FLUSH FIN OR BLOCK?
The next thing to determine is the type of replacement
application you need.
Flush Fin (also known as Retro-Fin) frames
are designed to replace aluminum or other metal frame
windows while preventing damage to stucco and interior
dry wall. It consists of a vinyl fin that surrounds the
perimeter of the window frame and is flush with the
exterior frame of the window.
Block frames
are designed to replace old wood sash windows. They
provide a clean, tight fit to the old wood sill of your
existing window frame. Because this type of window does
not include a full perimeter fin, it usually requires a
new finished trim application.
